Our community gathers to send us off

What a treat! So many of our friends showed up from far and wide to see us off. We gathered at the harbor where Kalakas was tied up on a Saturday night for an evening of food, drink, stories, music, and friendship. It was very special to me to have so many of my dear friends show up to wish us well and to bless the boat. It really made everything more real and alive to have my extended family become a part of the story, get to see the vessel, and spend some time on it with Brady and I before we split.
